About
Richard Morris is a writer from Manchester, UK, with a background in art, art history and design. Most of his working life has been spent in and with Manchester, managing major branding and communication projects for several decades, helping development towards becoming a truly European City.
Originating from the working class streets of a Manchester suburb, he now writes based on his experiences and knowledge in both journalistic and creative genres. You might find him around the City and its suburbs, nurturing an espresso, sketching passers by and finding inspiration for his next characters.
His work ranges from memoires of his life and times in Manchester – The Manc Candidate – through to regular contributions to the Arts & Culture section for online magazine Manchester’s Finest.
A first full length novel – The Table – is available digitally and in print, along with a fascinating biography - Finding Significance.

Writing
‘The City of Manchester is where I’ve spent my entire life. I grew up here, I’ve loved here, I’ve lost here. All of these things have inspired me to write, sharing fact and fiction.
Below you will find some of my work as an arts and culture journalist for Manchester’s Finest, and here as short story writer, or a novel writer and biographer.’
